Jubilee Week Celebrations
This week we have been celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. We started the week by reading The Queen’s Knickers. This was a funny book and inspired our artwork this week.
ART
After reading the Queen’s Knickers, we designed our own knickers for the Quee. We thought about different activities we do in class and then created some imaginative designs. We also drew the Queen on a stamp template.
TALK FOR WRITING
We wrote to the Queen explaining our story and then we sent her copies of our knickers and stamp designs to look at. We role-played being the Queen and asked our classmates to do different activities.
CONSTRUCTION CHALLENGE
This week we had to build something associated with London or The Queen. We had lots of fantastic ideas and some really imaginative stories to go with our models.
MATHS
Maths this week was on tangrams, we had to cut different shapes out and make other shapes using them. Some of us were set the challenge of making a square using different shapes, this was very tricky and got our brains thinking. We managed it with a little help.
PREPERATIONS FOR THE JUBILEE PARTY
We listened to the national anthem as we made red, white and blue paper chains, along with flags and paper hats. We also we made jam sandwiches and decorated cup cakes with coloured icing.
Finally, we had a fantastic party and we are now ready for a relaxing week off!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
