What is Remote Learning?

Remote Learning using an online platform, website or app allows children to continue their learning and to access our curriculum at times when they cannot be in school, for example where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home or where a child is isolating but still well and able to access their education off site.

Please see the documents at the end of this page for more information.

What is Seesaw?

Seesaw is a secure online learning journal where children and staff can create and upload work to document their learning. Seesaw will also be used for homework by some year groups. The tool will be extremely useful for remote learning should school be in a situation where a group of children have to stay at home.

How does it work?

All children have been taught how to log into their Seesaw account, navigate the website/app, and complete a piece of work. Each child has a unique log in code which will be glued into their Communication Diaries.

To see how Seesaw works for you and your child/children, please watch the short demonstration video by Mr Hayward-Mitchell:

Log In to Seesaw here: https://app.seesaw.me

Does Seesaw have access to my child's data?

In order for your child to use Seesaw, the company only needs your child’s name in order to be able to associate work like their photos, videos or voice recordings with their account. Seesaw only uses this information to provide the service and doesn’t advertise within their platform, create profiles of students, or share or sell your child’s personal information or journal content. You can read more about their strong privacy promises here.

Under an EU law called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), adopted by the UK as UK GDPR, in order for your child to use Seesaw we must have parental consent. If you do not consent to us sharing your child's name with Seesaw to allow them to use the platform, please click here to let us know.

Problems?

If you have any difficulties using Seesaw, have misplaced login details, or need any further assistance at all please get in touch with us and Mr. Hayward-Mitchell will be in touch to support you. Please note we are unable to reply immediately, but will be in touch as soon as we are able.
