This week in maths, children have been learning their 3, 4 and 8 times tables. They have learnt new sings to help them remember this and have then applied there learning to solve multiplication facts in these times tables.
In English, children have used their box up plans to write an explanation text about how to survive the Stone Age. Children have been working hard to include the features of an explanation text and include facts and technical vocabulary in their work.
Children have also been experimenting the permeability of rocks. Children completed a science experiment to see how rocks reacted in water and decide if they were permeable or impermeable. Children will then use these results to create a bar chart next week.
For this week’s spellings, we are looking at words with the short ‘i’ sound spelt with ‘y’
