Snowdrop

Week beginning 23rd January 2023

This week in maths, children have been continued learning about division. They have been applying their knowledge into short division questions. Additionally, children have been using dienes or coins to divide amounts into 2,4,5 or 10 equal parts using bar models.

In English, children have written their own rags to riches tale. Children have been independently writing this and using a checklist to edit and improve their work. This will then be published as part of our take care writing.

Children have also been working hard on making their Egyptian death masks. Children have used Papier Mache to build up the strength of their mask. In the next few lessons, children will be adding decoration and evaluating their artwork.

For this week’s spellings, we are learning about the prefix -mis to create words with a negative meaning.

Children will take part in a spelling quiz on these words on WB 30.01.23
