Week beginning 20th June 2022
This week in maths, children have started to learn about shape and geometry. Children have been exploring turns and angles, finding these in shapes and everyday objects.
In English, children have been innovated the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and have decided as a class on an alternative ending. Children have completed a shared writing, discussed their ideas and written sentences using features from a checklist.
On Wednesday, children had their weekly session with our learning leaders from the University of Nottingham. Children were investigating the digestive system, identifying the organs and their role in the process of breaking down food. Children then completed an activity to break down the food and show how it travels through the large and small intestine. Even though things got a little messy, children were able to understand that this is a process that happens in their body every time they eat.
