This week in maths, children have been learning about division. Children have been using place value counters to divide amounts, focusing on exchanging and identifying remainders. Children will then be transferring this to the bus stop method.
In English, children have continued with their learning about the Egyptian Cinderella. We have created a class box up and then written our story in 5 parts. Children have decided on sentence starters and used their in their writing.
Children have also been exploring Chinese New Year. On Wednesday, children completed a workshop learning all about how is this celebrated. Children then practiced writing a greeting and creating a picture of a blossom tree.
For this week’s spellings, we are learning about adding the vowel suffixes (-er, -ed or -ing) to words with more than one syllable where the last syllable is stressed.
Children will take part in a spelling quiz on these words on WB 23.01.23
