Week commencing 14th March
What a busy week it has been! We had Science Week, visiting musicians from the University of Nottingham and Red Nose Day. The theme for National Science Week this year has been ‘Smashing Stereotypes’ and in YR2 we have been looking at famous female scientists. We found out about Katherine Johnson who worked for NASA (whose life story was told in the film Hidden Figures) and we did some experiments using rockets.
On Thursday we had a visit from the flautists from Nottingham University and the children enjoyed conducting them and listening to them talk about their instruments and performing ‘Chattanooga choo choo’ and ‘The Circle of Life’ from the Lion King.
Friday bought Red-Nose day and the school raised just under £300 as children made a £1 donation to wear mad clothes for the day. Here are some photos of us doing the daily mile.
