and life to everything.”

Music at our school
The aim of the John Clifford Primary music curriculum is to make music an enjoyable learning experience through which children can develop their musical tastes, vocabulary, understanding and practical skills
The children at John Clifford will learn to perform, create and analyse a range of musical forms, with singing at the core. This also includes using a range of instruments.
The music curriculum links with a range of curricuum areas. Our curriculum at John Clifford also allows lots of opportunities to link music learning with other subjects including Maths, Art, Computing, Geography and PSHE.
Spring Term
Blowsoc (Nottingham University students) visited the school to play for the children in KS1 and KS2 during singing assembly on Wednesday morning. The saxophone ensemble played four pieces including Moon River, The Theme to Pink Panther and Sweet Caroline. The children really enjoyed listening to the music and looking at the instruments. (28.02.24) We also welcomed the trombone and clarinet ensembles and the children really enjoyed listening to the live performances, finding out about the instruments and having a go at conducting the ensembles! We would like to thank the students for their time and their willingness to share their love of music with the children.
