Week beginning 4th July 2022

This week in maths, children have completed their learning of geometry, making models of 3d shapes. Children have then used their models to describe the properties of their shape including faces, edges and vertices. Children have also started to learn about mass and capacity. They have been using scales to measure items in grams and kilograms and compare these amounts to identify what is ‘heavier’ and ‘lighter’.

In English, children have started a new topic about non-chronological reports. Children have been finding the features of a non-chronological report and have started to research information about fairtrade to include in their report.

This week was also our final session with our University Learning Leaders from the University of Nottingham. Children were able to use microscopes. The children have learned lots about their bodies over the past few weeks and have asked some amazing questions to develop their learning.
