Snowdrop

Week beginning 14th March 2022

This week in maths, children have started a new topic all about measurement. Children have been measuring using a range of equipment and recording this in mm, cm and m. Children have also been converting measurements and apply this to problem solving questions.

In English, children have been learning their new text, a newspaper report all about trapping the Iron Man. Children have been creating actions using our story maps and practicing this throughput our lessons. Children have also taken part in drama activities, thinking about the characters actions, facial expressions and mood.

To celebrate British Science week, children have been learning all about Austrian – Swedish physicist, Lise Meitner. Children read a biography about this scientist as part of a whole class reading activity and then completed a timeline all about her life.

Here is a picture of our story map for our new text.
