In maths, we have been learning about statistics. This has included tallying and drawing and interpreting pictograms. We have created a chart of our favourite fruits and we have created a tally chart from this. We continued this learning in our Computing lesson to begin our 'Data and Information' unit.
In English, we have been looking at the story and animated tale from Nigeria, 'The Strongest Man in the World', and we have focused on discussing the features of and creating a character description of the main character, Obasi. We have continued this learning in our whole class reading as we have looked at some of the new vocabulary and we have answered questions about the text.
In science, we have been learning about Africa and the characteristics of the African Savannah. We have thought carefully about what the African Savannah is like as a habitat. We have looked at lots of new vocabulary and definitions which will help us throughout our topic. This learning has continued in geography as we have been learning about the seven continents of the world and we looked carefully at Antarctica as a continent and as a habitat for the emperor penguins.
In PE, we have started football and basketball. We have been learning how to dribble in each of the sports and we have thought carefully about the importance of working as a team.
In PSHE, we have started our unit on 'Diverse Britain' and we have thought about our school community and what is helpful or not helpful within this.
In Art, we have been learning about African patterns and we have created some patterns of our own.
