We have had a very busy four days!
Since seeing the school ducklings hatch we have gone duck crazy!!!!
We started the week reading Farmer Duck and looking at books about different types of ducks
ART
We learnt to draw ducks using semi circles and curved lines. We then painted ducks and ducklings using fine paint brushes and short strokes.
CONSTRUCTION CHALLENGE
This week’s challenge was to create a duck using Lego/Duplo blocks. We used our imaginations and created some interesting designs.
We even played duck, duck goose during outdoor play.
MATHS
This week we have been working on spatial reasoning problems using patterns. We had to match coloured cubes to a pattern. It was then made harder by turning the shapes. We then challenged our partners to copy a cube pattern.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
We observed our tadpoles and noticed that they have grown bigger and some seem to be translucent.
We discussed schools in the past, and how the children used quills and ink, we then wrote some letters using feathers and paint.
We are learning our number bonds and are excited to use NUMBOTS.
