The weather has started to look a lot brighter and definitely warmer, so the Daisy Class have been having lots of fun adventures outside! The children have settled back into the Daisy Class and had a great first four days back
This half term, we are learning about how things grow and change. This week we have been looking at how we grow ,change and stay healthy by, discussing the life cycle of a human, by sequencing pictures of babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. We have read, The Avocado Baby, The growing Story The Ugly Duckling story and many more related to growing.
PLANTING AND GROWING
We have been doing a lot of growing and planting. We learnt that there are seeds and bulbs. We tidied and weeded our garden area and then planted our seed potatoes and some flower seeds. We discovered that plants need soil, water , heat and light to grow. We also observed the duck beginning to hatch out of their eggs ! We observed and learnt about the tadpoles which are in class.
BRUSHING BUDDIES
We talked about how to keep our teeth healthy. We found out we should brush our teeth twice a day in the morning and at night. We should only use a pea sized amount of tooth paste. You don't need to put water on your toothbrush. After brushing for two minutes, we should spit the toothpaste out and not rinse because the fluoride left behind helps to protect our teeth. We learnt not eat too many sweets!
PE
We got lots of apparatus out and experimented with many different ways of moving, balancing and doing pencil rolls on our mats and how to land safely. We also joined in with Cosmic Yoga.
OUTDOOR LEARNING.
This was Daisy Class’ first visit to the Outdoor Learning area. We spent the morning exploring and playing in the Outdoor Learning area with Mrs Mitchell.
We are looking forward to the weekend and having extra day off.
