The Wildflower Garden

Weekending 13th May 2022

Reading.

This week we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. We acted out being the giant and using the phrase-‘Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman.'

Maths

We used our cutting skills to cut out numbered leaves, which we then put in sequential order to make a beanstalk.

ICT/MATHS

We had our first visit to the ICT suite, where we played NUMBOTS. We were able to use the mouse and identify the numbers needed to answer the questions. This is helping us learn our number bonds.

CONSTRUCTION

This week’s challenge was to create a beanstalk using a variety of pegs, small shapes and hammers.

PE

This week used the apparatus and floor mats. On the floor mats we grew like beanstalks and then tried to roll by just using our core strength to twist. We found it difficult to stay in a straight line without using our hands, legs or feet.

DUCKS

It was lovely too hold the ducks and watch them swim.

SPECIAL EVENT

We had a skipping lesson from Dan. We learnt how to jump over a rope and land on two feet, whilst turning the rope and allowing enough space for our bodies to pass through.
